Saifeena's wedding

Saifeena's wedding

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan signed the marriage registry yesterday afternoon and sealed it with an exchange of vows at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai. The bride wore a traditional gharara belonging to her mother-in-law and made up-to-date for the occasion. She later changed into a champagne outfit by Manish Malhotra. The groom wore a brocade achkan by designer Raghavendra Rathore.

Close friend and designer Manish Malhotra and his team helped Kareena get ready for her big night. Yesterday afternoon, he tweeted: "So me and my team is here to get kareena dress as a bride."

"First we style and fit the vintage traditional outfit on kareena".

"After the vows for the wedding party change into outfit made by me"

The reception was a grander affair than the previous, more private, functions. Guests included Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri, industrialist Ratan Tata and cousin Ranbir Kapoor. Friends like Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora Khan and Manish Malhotra have been at most of the functions so far.

The registered marriage took place at Saif's Bandra apartment this afternoon with his mother Sharmila Tagore and Kareena's parents Randhir and Babita Kapoor acting as witnesses.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was late to the ceremony because he was appearing an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He tweeted later: Saif & Kareena dinner rushed after finishing kbc. Wot a lovely couple...wish them only happiness. Thanx for the warmth, lov & dancing.

SRK was also among the first to wish the newlyweds, tweeting earlier in the day: Happiest marriage bond to my friend Saif & Kareena. May Allah keep ur family healthy & happy. Just saw it is registered, sealed & delivered.

Kareena's ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor also wished the couple luck and said that he hoped Kareena would keep acting after her marriage.

Kareena, 32, and Saif, 42, have been dating for the last five years. Saif was previously married to actress Amrita Singh with whom he has a daughter and a son. Wedding celebrations, including the sangeet and mehendi, have been kept private, restricted to a small number of family and close friends only. But the revelry is not over yet. Two post-wedding functions are scheduled - a family affair at Pataudi Palace and a reception in Delhi.

Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's pre-wedding party on Sunday at Bebo's Bandra residence was a private affair with the terrace venue covered to prevent media getting a peek. Many Bollywood celebrities were spotted at the party including Neetu Singh, Babita, Sanjay

Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu among others. While a source says it's a sangeet ceremony, designer Manish Malhotra said: "Its just a fun party." Kareena was wearing a traditional yellow-golden lehenga.

The marriage, to be reportedly be held on Tuesday, is planned as a quiet affair with only immediate family
members from both sides being present.

Saifeena's engagement

Saifeena's engagement

Engagement of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor held on February 10, 2012. he duo has been the toast of the B-Town grapevine ever since they became a couple four years ago. Saif, 41, and Kareena, 31, had announced their plans to get married soon after the release of Saif's upcoming ambitious production Agent Vinod, co-starring his bride-to-be. The film releases on March 23. Incidentally, Kareena's new rom-com Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu will release on February 10.

"Saif and Kareena are serious about their marriage. They have been in love for quite some time and both of them think this is the right time to tie the knot. However, both of them have important films lined up. The engagement and wedding will have to be balanced with the work load," a source close to the actress said.

Kareena, who is currently in London with her sister Karisma, will be promoting her new film even as she prepares for the engagement. Saif, too, has been working hard over the past year or so to get his megabudget spy thriller Agent Vinod ready for release.

Kareena is likely to wear a Vikram Phadnis creation at the engagement. The venue is yet to be decided and both the families have reportedly planned a private ring ceremony to be attended only by close friends and relatives. Both the engagement and the subsequent wedding will be low-key affairs as Saif's father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away only a few months ago.

Saifeena may throw a party for industry colleagues a few days after the engagement, either at a Mumbai hotspot or at Saif's residence, a source added. Reports of a February 10 engagement have come as a surprise for many, considering Saifeena have been shying away from specifically answering questions about settling down. During the recent unveiling of the first look of Agent Vinod, Saif skirted the topic saying: "I would like to talk about my film at this event and not about my engagement or marriage."

While sources close to the actors said they picked February 10 for the engagement because of the date's proximity to Valentine's Day, others have indicated that the news could be aimed at promoting Ek Main Aur
Ekk Tu.

"Everyone is waiting eagerly for the Saif-Kareena wedding. However, there was no hint so far of an engagement at such a short notice. The Valentine's Day angle cannot be glossed over but what is worth noting is that Kareena also has a romantic comedy releasing in the same week," a trade insider, not wishing to be named, said. Kareena has Talaash and Heroine lined up and Saif's other big films are Race 2 and Cocktail.

Kareena Kapoor to change name after marriage

Kareena Kapoor to change name after marriage

Kareena Kapoor has revealed she will change her name after marriage. The actress is marrying long-term boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in October, after postponing the date for several months.

She told The Times of India: "Saif doesn't want me to change anything about myself, including my name, after
marriage. Post-marriage I will be Kareena Kapoor Khan. "That means I have the privilege of having two of the most powerful surnames in Bollywood attached to my name."

Kapoor was reportedly forced to drop out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Romeo and Juliet update because the
filmmaker thought a married woman would be unconvincing as Juliet.

In July, the 31-year-old star denied that her marriage to Khan will affect her acting ambitions. She said: "I think I will be like Zohra Sehgal who would be working till 90 - so tough luck. I am not going
to give my place to anyone."

Saif is not that romantic

Saif is not that romantic

Kareena Kapoor has revealed details of Saif Ali Khan's marriage proposal. In an interview with Hello! India, the actress explained how the couple first became properly acquainted. "We were in Ladakh to shoot Tashan. I had just broken up with Shahid Kapoor. Even though I had met Saif socially, we hadn't spoken much. When I spotted him near the hotel pool, he was tanning on a lounge chair, clad in just jeans. I told my friend, 'Oh my God… he's so hot!'

"After our first shot, we chatted and he made me laugh a lot. I hope it always stays that way. Today, we are
best friends. I hope marriage only adds to what we share." The actress, who starred with Khan in Agent Vinod, revealed that he never really declared his affections
verbally and didn't formally propose.

"Actually, he never really said it… he isn't that romantic. We'd been dating for a couple of months, and he said, 'Look… I'm not 25 years old, you know. I can't keep dropping you home every night'. "So, he came and met my mother and told her, 'She's my woman, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. We want to live together'. My mum was pretty cool about it. I just got my stuff together and that was it. No fuss."
